Pete's Ironman Pool Party
Aug 4, 2007
It's always great to get together with friends and family to celebrate
special occasions in our lives. As athletes who are in relatively great
condition, sometimes we seem to take for granted our health and good physical
condition that we are in. But sometimes, we just need to stop for a minute, take
a breath and thank God (doesn't matter what religion you are) for all that we
have especially our health and great friendships.
My Ironman pool party was not only to celebrate my finish at Coeur d'Alene
Ironman, but also to celebrate any special achievements that we as Tornados
accomplished this past year. PR's are great, but sometimes just finishing any
endurance event is accomplishment to be proud of.
We had a pretty good turnout for the party. We were very lucky with the
weather. Seems like all areas got hit hard by thunderstorms except for
Rosenberg. Someone upstairs must have been looking our for us.
The party was great. The photos below pretty much sum up the party. Despite
me not wanting any tequila at the party, Victor brought a bottle of "El Patron".
Leno christened the bottle and the rest is history. I tell you after 3 or 4
shots (I can't remember), I finally realize what Joe and Leno keep telling me
about good tequila. It really does go down smooth. Years of me avoiding tequila
shots like the plague because of the day after affects (i.e. hangover), I
finally realized it was the cheap tequila I had been drinking all these years -
especially in the Navy.
Anyways thanks to Leno, for being the life of the party. Any party with Leno
there is full of good times. So here goes the photos ...
